2nd toe numb and discolored. Age 65 walk 2 miles a day. Toenail OK - no discoloration there.

Based on the fact that you describe a sensation of numbness, we would recommend that you consult your primary care physician or a foot health professional.  He or she can help determine the reason for the discoloration and numbness, and suggest appropriate remedies. It’s possible that you have injured the toe, or that repetitive stress has caused the condition; however, it is best to stay on the safe side and consult a medical professional, especially if the condition has lingered for more than a few days. We hope you will do this, and that you will very soon have this issue resolved.
