Ask The Experts

A week ago I was jumping on a trampoline and I landed the wrong way and I heard a pop and I bent my foot. So the swelling has gone down but not completely but the pain is getting a little bit more painful and my joints by the toes are darkish looking and some other spots are red. I am asking can you tell me what's wrong and what can I do to help it?

Thank you for contacting us. IPFH does not diagnose conditions or recommend treatments. The damage that has occurred to your ankle should be assessed and properly diagnosed by your primary care physician or a foot health professional. We recommend that you make an appointment at your earliest opportunity, because your injury could possibly include a fracture of a bone. From your description, you may have incurred a sprain, but sprains can sometimes be accompanied by fractures, and the only way to determine precisely the extent of the injury is for you to get professional medical attention. We urge you to do this at your earliest opportunity, and we hope your ankle will soon be healed and free of pain.
