I have flat feet and when I normally walk with slippers or just bare footed my feet don't feel pain. Every time I wear running shoes and walk around in them after a while the bottom part of the outer end (pinky toe side) starts hurting. Not towards the heel but just the larger flat surface area of the foot but underneath. Can someone help me with this?

Thank you for contacting us. IPFH cannot diagnose or recommend treatments on line. If you are not already under the care of a medical professional, we would advise you to consult a foot health specialist.  Check our page How to Choose a Foot Health Professional to help you determine what kind of professional would be best for you to consult. Running shoes usually are designed specifically for certain gait types, and you may have chosen a pair that is not ideal for your particular situation. A foot health professional can help determine the reason for the pain and assist with selection of the footwear that is most appropriate for you.  We hope you will do this, and will soon be walking without pain.
