Ask The Experts

I have a sharp consistent pain on the bottom of my big toe with pressure, with walking, no trauma, no visible marks. What could it be, and how is it treated?

Thank you for contacting IPFH. We do not diagnose or recommend treatments on line. It would be best for you to consult a foot health professional. He or she can examine you, determine the cause of the pain, and recommend appropriate treatment. You can use our foot pain self-assessment tool to identify some possible causes of your pain, but please understand that it is not meant to be used as a diagnostic tool, nor is it a substitute for a medical professional’s opinion. Because you describe the pain as fairly intense, it is important for you to get this attended to. We hope you will consult a medical professional soon, and that your pain will very quickly be under control.
