Sever’s Disease (calcaneal apophysitis)

Sever's disease is a painful heel condition affecting young people between the ages of 8-14 who are experiencing growth spurts. The condition tends to occur when the heel bone (calcaneus) grows at a faster rate than tendons (in particular, the Achilles tendon) and ligaments in the heel and ankle area.
