How do we treat a badly bruised foot with a diabetic?
Thank you for contacting IPFH. We do not diagnose or make treatment recommendations on line. Foot conditions in people with diabetes – however seemingly small or insignificant – should always be treated with the utmost caution. With a bruise, it is difficult to determine the extent of the damage, especially if the person has neuropathy / loss of sensation. Our strong recommendation is to consult the person’s primary care physician or a foot health professional as quickly as possible. He or she can determine how serious the bruise is, and recommend treatments as appropriate. We hope this will happen very soon, and that all will be well.
