What's my situation - the last 2 or 3 toes are numb on my right foot with slight bite of feeling in it? My heels hurt and at times feel like little balls are in them. I am on my feet 12 hours on my job and I have fallen arches. What type of shoes or insoles do I need?

Thank you for contacting IPFH. We do not diagnose conditions or recommend treatments on line. Your best course of action would be to consult your primary care physician or a foot health professional. He or she can determine the cause of your numbness and pain and recommend solutions for you, which may or may not include insoles or shoes. The fact that you spend so much time on your feet certainly can have an effect on your foot health, and it would be wise for you to seek advice from a health care professional as to the best footwear for your particular situation (IPFH endorses an integrated approach to footwear selection and fitting). The fact that you are experiencing numbness and pain, and that you refer to having fallen arches make it especially important that you consult a medical professional for treatment and footwear advice. We hope that you will do so, and that your pain and numbness will soon be gone.
