Ask The Experts

I jumped very high and landed on the outside of my foot with my full weight. I can walk on it but it hurts a great deal. It bruised at first but the bruise went away. The pain is still very real though. Could it be a fracture or just a bone bruise? Also I can't bend my toes on said foot like I used to be able to. Can you help me?

Thank you for contacting us. IPFH does not diagnose or recommend medical treatments on line. You would be best advised to consult your primary care physician or a foot health professional. He or she can help you determine if there is a fracture by examining you and doing x-rays or other imaging. Any time you sustain a traumatic injury to your foot, there is a chance of a fracture, so we would recommend that you consult a medical professional at your earliest opportunity. A bruise could cause similar pain, but it is better to err on the side of caution, and consult a medical professional. We hope you will do that at your earliest opportunity, and that you will get a quick resolution to your pain.
