Would Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome be so painful that you are not able to stand on your feet without falling from the pain (even after previously standing)?

Thank you for contacting IPFH. We do not diagnose or recommend treatments on line. Tarsal tunnel syndrome can be characterized by pain - sometimes intense or shooting pain, usually on the inside of the ankle area, but sometimes on the bottom of the feet. Symptoms can be isolated, or they may extend to other areas of the foot, including the heel, the arch, or the toes. This can happen suddenly at times, most often as a result of overuse, including extended time standing, walking or exercising. You can learn more about tarsal tunnel syndrome by visiting our foot condition page. The pain you describe tells us that you should consult your physician or a foot health professional. If you have a previous diagnosis of tarsal tunnel syndrome, this would undoubtedly be your best course of action. Even if you haven’t received that diagnosis, you should be checked by a medical professional to determine exactly what is causing the pain, and to get recommendations on what to do to address it. We hope you will consult a medical professional at your earliest opportunity, and that you will soon have relief from this pain.
