When I first get up out of bed, I feel like I'm walking on bone, I stretch and it goes away. However, during the day, I have sharp pains that shoot up through the bottom of my heel and a nagging burn on the inside of my right foot below my ankle. What is that burning sensation? It's been going on for about two weeks now.
Thank you for contacting us. IPFH does not diagnose conditions or provide medical advice on line. You would be best advised to consult your primary care physician or a foot health professional. He or she can help determine the reason for this pain and burning, and then recommend appropriate treatment. The symptoms you describe are consistent with plantar fasciitis (you can learn more about this condition at our page on the subject), but again, there is no way to determine this for certain until you see a medical professional. Since this condition can often be difficult to resolve, it is important that you seek medical attention. We hope you will do this, and that you will soon get relief for your pain and discomfort.
