I have a 1 mm hole between the 2nd & 3rd toe on the sole of the foot. The pain usually starts low but occasionally flares up. It seems similar to metatarsalgia, however when I take off my shoes and either walk or rub them it goes away.

Thank you for contacting IPFH. We do not diagnose conditions or make treatment recommendations on line. You would be best advised to contact your primary care physician or a foot health professional. He or she can help you determine what is causing the pain and the hole you reference. Once a proper diagnosis has been made, a treatment plan can be established. We hope you will consult a medical professional and that you will soon be rid of the pain and annoyance of this condition.
