As I was walking barefooted, I felt a sharp pain on my toe next to my pinky, left foot. Have had it now for 3 days. Had never felt it before. When wearing shoes the pain is not as severe. Help! What's happening to my toe? Also, when I squeeze the ball under that toe, it is painful. The rest of my toes don't hurt.

Thank you for contacting IPFH. We cannot diagnose or recommend treatments on line. Pain, especially sharp pain, is not normal, and is a sign that something is amiss. Because the pain could be the result of any of several issues, we recommend that you consult your primary care physician or a foot health professional. He or she can help determine the cause of the pain and then provide recommendations to address whatever condition might be causing it. We hope you will consult a medical professional soon, and that your pain will very quickly be gone.
