Bruise
Symptoms of Bruises
Bleeding under the skin produces discoloration – usually a deep blue or purple color. As bruises heal, they may become yellowish in color. Other symptoms may include:
- Tenderness to the touch in the discolored area, especially in the days following the injury;
- Swelling.
A foot bruise may be a symptom of a deeper injury to the skin and tissue, especially in the case of a contusion (deep bruise) or ankle sprain.
