Foot Pain and Soreness

Prevention and Treatment of Foot Pain and Soreness

Using proper body mechanics for your activity, avoiding doing high-impact activity on hard surfaces and wearing the appropriate footwear for your activity are among the preventive steps you can take to help avoid foot pain and soreness.

Wearing properly selected and fitted, as part of an integrated approach, padded socks with shoes with non-slip outsoles and any inserts or orthotics prescribed or recommended by a doctor or foot health professional can also help.  Peer-reviewed, published studies have shown that wearing clinically-tested padded socks can help protect against injuries to the skin/soft tissue of the foot, and thereby, reduce pain and soreness.

Treatment depends on the cause of the pain. See your doctor or foot health professional for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
