Rock G. Positano, DPM, MSc, MPH, is Director and Founder of the Non-surgical Foot and Ankle Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, and Director and Founder of the Joe DiMaggio Sports Medicine Foot and Ankle Center at Weill Cornell Medical Center.  Dr. Positano is nationally known for his non-surgical approach for the treatment of foot disorders and is frequently cited in the media. He is also a researcher and author of numerous peer-reviewed articles and authoritative texts. His research interests include the development of non-surgical treatment programs for foot and ankle problems; development of new prescription foot orthoses prototypes for the non-surgical treatment of foot and ankle problems; creation of joint preservation strategies for the foot, ankle, knee, hip and back; and establishment of public health protocols to preempt the development of foot and ankle conditions.
