Privacy Policy

General

The Institute for Preventive Foot Health (“IPFH") respects the privacy of every individual who visits our website. This Privacy Policy outlines the information that IPFH may collect and how we may use that information.  This Privacy Policy is in effect from April 1, 2012, and is subject to change from time to time without notice, and you should review the current policy each time you use this website.  Prior to April 1, 2012, the IPFH website did not contain any functionality designed to collect any personal information.

Collection of Information

To help us focus our website on the needs and interests of our visitors and users, we may collect various types of information from you that do not identify you personally.  In some cases, this non-personal information is collected automatically (i.e., not via registration) when you connect to our site.  For example, when you visit the IPFH website, we collect your computer IP address.  We may collect general data pertaining to the specific Web pages and information on our site that were accessed, the type of Internet Browser you are using, the type of computer operating system you are using, and the domain name of the website from which you linked to our site.

Personal Data

IPFH will not collect any personally identifiable information about you (e.g., your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address ("personal data")) through our website unless you have provided it to us voluntarily. You may voluntarily submit personal data to request additional information regarding IPFH and our activities.  If you do not want your personal data collected, please do not submit it to us.

Use and Disclosure of Information

We aggregate the non-personally identifiable information we collect with information collected from other visitors and users of our website to track overall visitor and user traffic patterns.  This information allows us to develop statistics that are helpful to understanding how our visitors use our website.  We use this information to monitor, maintain and improve the functionality of our website. We do not attempt to associate non-personally identifiable information with any personal data.

When you do provide us with personal data, we (or third parties acting on our behalf who are bound to maintain our privacy policies) may use that information in the following ways, unless stated otherwise at the time the information is collected: we may store and process that information to better understand your needs and how we can improve our website; we may use that information to contact you; and/or we may provide other third parties with aggregate--but not individual or personally identifiable--information about visitors to or users of our site.  If we use your personal data to contact you, we will provide you a method described in the e-mail or physical mail that you receive, allowing you to opt-out of future outreaches.  If the outreach you receive is via e-mail, the method of opting out will be electronic via e-mail back to us.  If the outreach you receive is physical mail, the method of opting out will be by calling a number specified in the mail you receive.  We will not sell, rent or market your personal data to third parties.

Special Note for Parents

The IPFH site you are visiting is not directed to children under 13 years of age.

Children

IPFH has no intention of collecting any personal data from individuals under 13 years of age. Where appropriate, IPFH will specifically instruct children under 13 years of age not to submit such information on our website. If you become aware that your child under 13 years of age has submitted personal data in violation of our policy, please call 1-877-777-IPFH(4734) or e-mail us and we will immediately delete that information.

Parents should be aware that IPFH’s Privacy Policy will govern our use of personal data, but that information which is voluntarily given by children of any age--or adults--in chat sessions, e-mail exchanges, bulletin boards or the like may be used without IPFH’s consent or awareness by other parties to generate unsolicited mail or for other purposes.  Parents should also be aware that our website contains links to news articles from independent sources that in some cases are directed to children of various ages, including young children.  While we will not intentionally collect any personal data from children under 13 years of age, we cannot control or be responsible for what these third party websites may collect from your children or the content of such articles.  IPFH strongly recommends to parents that they supervise the use of the Internet by their children of all ages and to instruct their children of all ages in the safe and responsible use or disclosure of their personal data on the Internet.
