Plantar Warts
Symptoms of Plantar Warts
- Hard, callused skin - usually flat, not raised above the skin line because frequently the wart grows inward (although some warts may have a slightly raised surface).
- Dark flecks or points under the skin that are sometimes misidentified as “seeds,” but which are actually small areas of dried or clotted blood.
- Warts can resemble, and may be mistaken for, calluses, but usually are distinguished from calluses by soreness or pain when pressure is placed on the area.
